UMW Men's Soccer Blanks Marymount, 4-0, in CAC Opener

Sophomore Riley Fisher scored a pair of second half goals after the Eagles built a 2-0 lead, as the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team defeated Marymount University, 4-0, on Saturday night in Arlington. The Eagles improve to 3-4-2 on the year.

Sophomore Carlos Mendoza scored the first goal at 15:10, and freshman Ben Cisse scored at 27:00 to build a 2-0 halftime advantage. In the second, Fisher scored at 55 minutes on a Conor Nogueira assist, and Fisher scored on a Cisse assist at 78:16, to cap the scoring.

The Eagles led in shots, 29-8, and in corner kicks, 4-1. Matt Spencer recorded a pair of saves, and shared the shutout with Curran Smolinsky. Logan Cropper had six stops for Marymount.

The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday when they host Randolph-Macon College at 4:30 p.m.
