NC Wesleyan Men's Soccer Tops Eagles, 3-1, on Wednesday

North Carolina Wesleyan College's Charles Chapin scored a hat trick as the Bishops defeated Mary Washington, 3-1, on Wednesday in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Eagles fall to 2-4-1 on the season.

Chapin scored the first goal 10 minutes into play on an assist from Isai Gonzalez on a through ball, and the Bishops led, 1-0, at halftime.

In the second, Chapin scored in the 67th minute on a Julius Oskarsson assist. The Eagles cut the deficit to 2-1 at 71:32, as sophomore Riley Fisher scored on a Ben Cisse assist that deflected off the post and in.

The Bishops capped the scoring with Chapin scoring at 80:11. NC Wesleyan led in shots, 10-7, while UMW led in corner kicks, 6-1. Freshman matt Spencer had four saves for the Eagles, while Jesper Olsson had two saves for the hosts.

Mary Washington will be back in action on September 24 when they visit Dickinson College at 6:00 p.m.
