Men's Soccer Falls to Frostburg State, 1-0 in CAC First Round

Fredericksburg, Va.-- The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team fell to Frostburg State, 1-0 in the first round of the CAC Conference Tournament. The Eagles see their season end with their final record at 12-7, 5-4 CAC.

The first half saw neither team give an inch, with each team mustering three shots in the opening half. Early in the second half, the Bobcats struck with a goal from Pablo Torrano. Torrano took a pass from Chris Jones and put it past UMW keeper Ian Waltz to give Frostburg a 1-0 lead. The Eagles had a couple of good chances late, including one from senior Kevin Murphy. Murphy took a pass from Carlos Mendoza at the top of the box, but placed it just wide of the net.

Murphy along with Jacob Burke led the Eagles with two shots each. UMW got eight shots on Bobcat keeper Hassan Mostafa, who made three saves. Waltz made two saves in the game.
