Eagles Tame Bobcats on Homecoming, 2-0

Fredericksburg, Va.-- The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team defeated Frostburg, 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Riley Fisher scored both tallies en route to the upset victory. The Eagles improve to 11-6, 5-3 CAC on the year.

The first of action saw the Eagles dominate from start to finish. UMW outshot the Bobcats 6-3 including a shot from Guy Cross that went off the crossbar and over the net. The second half saw the Bobcats come out fast, looking to get to the Eagles early. Fisher broke the scoreless affair with a shot into the bottom right corner past Bobcat keeper Hassan Mostafa to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead. Fisher struck again with six minutes remaing. Riley took a pass from senior Tanner Carlton to seal the victory. 

The Eagles outshot the Bobcats 12-8, with Jacob Burke and Fisher each having three shots. Burke added an assist on the first Fisher goal.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, October 9th. The Eagles travel to Southern Virginia in the final regular season match of the year. The match with the Knights begins at 1:00 p.m.
