Men's Soccer Blanks St. Mary's (Md.), 3-0 on Wednesday

St. Mary's City, Md.-- The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team defeated St. Mary's (Md.) 3-0 in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday. The Eagles got three goals from three different players on their way to a win. The team also outshot the Seahawks 18-4 to move to 10-6, 4-3 in CAC play this year.

The Eagles got on the board toward the end of the first half on a Riley Fisher (Staunton, Va./Stuart Hall School) goal. Fisher took a short pass from Guy Cross (Arlington, Va./St. John's College HS) and chipped it over the head of St. Mary's keeper Austin Brown.

Senior Kevin Murphy (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead early into the second stanza. Murphy had a throw in that just skipped off the hands of Brown and into the net at the 51:42 mark. Fellow senior David Heller (Alexandria, Va./Mount Vernon) put the game away just four minutes later. Heller took a Murphy throw in and headed it into the net to increase the lead to 3-0.

The Eagles outshot the Seahawks 18-4 in the contest, with Fisher leading the way with four.
