UMW Men's Soccer falls to #14 York, 1-0, at Homecoming

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team, playing a man down for more than 60 minutes, fell to 14th ranked York College of Pa. on Saturday for Homecoming at the Battleground. The Eagles fall to 10-6-1 overall and 3-3 in CAC play.

UMW had to play a man down after a red card was issued in the 30th minute. The Spartans led in shots, 13-5, and each team had two corner kicks. Sophomore Tyler Back had five saves in goal for Mary Washington. York's Cody Pearson scored the game's lone goal one minute into the second half.

The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday when they host nationally-ranked Christopher Newport University at 3:30 p.m.
