UMW Men's Soccer Falls at Lynchburg, 2-0

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Lynchburg College on Sunday afternoon at the Shellenberger Classic. The Eagles, who fall to 2-2 on the season, saw sophomore Tommy Sangbouasy (Manassas, Va., Osbourn) and freshman Jake Doyle (Stafford, Va., Mountain View) named to the all-tournament team.

Lynchburg reached the scoreboard early, connecting on a goal from Mustapha Dumbuya at 8:05. The Hornets added an insurance score at 58:58 from Jordan Clark.

The Hornets held a 15-8 shot advantage, and had nine corner kicks to two for UMW. Blake Weiss (Midland, Va., Liberty) had five saves in goal for the Eagles, who will visit Catholic University on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
