Today UMW hosted teams from all over the conference, including the reigning National Champions, Kutztown University. UMWs first match was against Mount Saint Mary's, a friendly rival of UMW. We won a nail biter against MSM 17-12 with a go ahead try by Conner. Kutztown was up next, where we played defence for 90% of the match, and came out with a tie 7-7 in a physical match. Virginia Tech was next, earning a convincing win 38-0. We earned the 3rd seed in the Cup bracket, matched up against Southern Virginia University. Came out with a few early tries and finished with a comfortable win 25-12, putting us up against St. Bonaventure in the final. Bonnie's started out hot with a 12-0 start. Came back and tied it 12-12 right before halftime. Second half, with time expired, we were down 12-17, when David Fitzgerald received an offload from Rory Naylory in contact and scored to tie it up and Sebastian Schefermann nailing the kick to give us the victory. Next up is the 7's Qualifier at Kutztown to solidity our spot in Nationals.
