UMW Men's Lacrosse Falls at #1 Salisbury in CAC Tourney Semifinal

The University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team fell at Salisbury, 22-9, on Saturday in the CAC Tournament semifinals. The Eagles drop to 9-8 on the season.


In the first quarter, the Eagles tied things up at 1-1 at the 11:02 mark when Owen Dingman scored unassisted. Salisbury answered by scoring three straight to end the first quarter. Salisbury stayed hot in the second quarter, outscoring the Eagles, 7-1, with Dingman scoring again unassisted.

 

The Eagles could only manage one goal in the third, as Mike Colgan scored unassisted. The Eagles opened the fourth quarter with goals from Miles Davis and Mike Marson. The two teams traded goals for the remainder of the contest until the Eagles scored two in the last 1:16 as Drew Carlson and Mike Marson each found the net to put a cap on the scoring.

 

Salisbury led in shots, 58-35, in ground balls, 50-32, and won 18 of 34 face offs. Billy Senicola and Sam Wasson combined for 13 saves in goal for the Eagles.
