UMW Men's Lax Falls to Albright in Baltimore, 9-6

The University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team dropped a 9-6 decision to Albright College on Saturday afternoon at Loyola High School in Baltimore. The Eagles fall to 5-7 on the season.

Albright scored the first two goals of the game, and led, 2-0, after one quarter. The Eagles bounced back in the second, as Greg Smith scored unassisted with 13:24 remaining, and Jack Bondurant scored with 11:21 remaining in the second on a Chris Garcia assist to tie the score at 2-2. After an Albright goal, UMW's Jared Krikorian scored with 2:05 left in the half to tie the score heading to intermission, 3-3.

Albright took the lead early in the third, but UMW answered with a score from Miles Davis, on a Bondurant assist, with 10:25 left in the third. Albright then scored three straight to take a 7-4 lead after three quarters.

The Eagles cut the deficit to 7-5, as Davis scored on a Jack Carver assist with 11:57 left, but Albright scored the next two to lead, 9-5. Davis scored again in the final seconds to cut the final to 9-6.

Davis led the Eagles with three goals, while Bonurant added a goal and two assists.

Albright led in shots, 38-32, and UMW led in ground balls, 26-23. Colin Bressan had 19 saves in goal for UMW, while Owen Dingman and Travis Peed each had three ground balls.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Frostburg State University at 6:00 p.m.
