UMW's Bohlinger, Petrucelli Named CAC Lax Players of the Week

UMW's Bohlinger, Petrucelli Named CAC Lax Players of the Week

University of Mary Washington lacrosse players John Bohlinger and Jenna Petrucelli have been named as the CAC Offensive Players of the Week for the week of March 4, 2014.

 

MEN'S LACROSSE

Mary Washington senior JOHN BOHLINGER (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and Marymount senior DEREK DIGIOVANNI (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) were named the CAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week.

Bohlinger was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 10 goals and four assists in a 2-0 week for the Eagles. Bohlinger tallied five goals in the pair of wins, and also added three assists in Saturday's triumph over Catholic. DiGiovanni was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Saints to a one-goal win over Messiah. DiGiovanni notched 10 saves and allowed only six goals in the 7-6 victory against the Falcons.

 

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Mary Washington senior JENNA PETRUCELLI (Cranbury, N.J./Peddie School) and Marymount junior MOLLY MAHER (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) were honored as the CAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week.

Petrucelli was awarded as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a 17-8 win over Lynchburg last Wednesday.  Petrucelli scored a team-high seven goals as the Eagles improved to 2-1 on the season. The senior netted the seven goals on eight shots, and also grabbed a game-high nine draw controls in the victory. Maher was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Saints' defense to two wins in two days, earning five caused turnovers in each game. She also totaled three groundballs and five draw controls for the week, including four against Mount Union.
