DelGrosso Named CAC Defensive Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. - - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its April 14, 2014, weekly award winners:

MEN'S LACROSSE

Salisbury senior Luke Phipps (Street, Md./John Carroll) and Mary Washington senior Zack Delgrosso (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) received CAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors. Phipps earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades after leading No. 5 Salisbury to a 3-0 week, including a 15-11 win over No. 2 Cabrini. Phipps' seven points (four goals and three assists) against Cabrini were a career high. With one goal in each game against Wesley and Southern Virginia, Phipps finished the week with six goals and four assists, while picking up seven ground balls.

Delgrosso was awarded as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 28 saves in two CAC wins for the Eagles last week. Delgrosso posted a 7.00 goals against average and 66.7 save percentage for the week. He made a big save in the final minutes of the Frostburg State game, allowing the Eagles to regain possession and led to Luke Dick's eventual game-winning goal.
