Bohlinger Named CAC Offensive Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. - - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its April 7, 2014, weekly award winners:

MEN'S LACROSSE

Mary Washington senior John Bohlinger (Westfield, N.J./ Westfield) and Christopher Newport freshman Matt Hayden (McLean, Va./Madison) were honored as the CAC Players of the Week. Bohlinger was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying eight goals and three assists in a 2-0 week for the Eagles. Bohlinger also scooped up three ground balls in the victories over St. Mary's and La Roche. Hayden was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a pair of victories and making 21 saves. In the Captains' upset win over No. 2 Salisbury, Hayden made 12 stops and held the Sea Gulls scoreless over the final 20 minutes of the game. He topped that effort on Saturday by holding Marymount scoreless over the last 22:31 of the game as CNU erased a 5-3 deficit to earn the victory. For the week, Hayden posted a 63.6 save percentage and held opponents to just six goals per game.
