Balanced Attack leads UMW Men's Lax Past Marymount, 19-4, in Home Finale

Luke Dick, Sean Dacey, and John Bohlinger each scored three goals to lead the University of Mary Washington to a 19-4 win over Marymount University in Capital Athletic Conference action at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 8-6 overall with the win.

The Eagles scored the first eight goals of the game, all coming in the opening quarter. Seven different players scored in the run, including Bohlinger twice. Billy Kelly, Jared Golden, Joey Marson, Chip Pittard, Griffin Burke, and Dick picked up single scores.

The Eagles built an 11-2 halftime advantage with second period goals from Dacey, Pittard and Bohlinger.

In the third, Dacey opened the scoring, and Dick added two goals before Dacey scored again to cap the quarter with the Eagles leading, 15-3. In the fourth, Paul Tunick, Cole Wyrough, Jared Krikorian, and Marson scored for UMW, extanding the final score to 19-4.

Senior Kyle Davitt made eight saves in three quarters for the Eagles, and Pete Shammas added three, splitting time in the fourth with Michael Hager. The Eagles led in shots, 51-26, and in ground balls, 34-24. Dick led the Eagles with five ground balls.

the Eagles gain the fifth seed in the CAC Tournament with the win, and will visit Frostburg State University on Wednesday in first round action.
