The University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-5 decision at third-ranked Salisbury University on Wednesday in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals, snapping the Eagles' six-game win streak and ending the campaign with a school-record 11 wins.

On Wednesday, the Eagles took the lead on a man-up goal from senior Evan Weiss midway through the first quarter on an assist from junior Harry Snyder. The Sea Gulls responded with four straight goals into the second quarter.

UMW stemmed the tide by cutting the deficit to 4-2 with 11:57 left in the second, as freshman John Bohlinger scored on a Kyle Johnson feed. Senior Mark Bowler added an unassisted goal before halftime, and UMW trailed, 8-3, at intermission.

After the Sea Gulls started the third quarter with three straight goals, Sean Dacey scored for UMW to cut the deficit to 11-4, and Weiss added his second goal of the day to move the score to 11-5 with 10:07 left in the game.

From there, the Sea Gulls scored the final four goals of the game in a 15-5 win. The Sea Gulls led in shots, 43-20, and had 21 ground balls to 16 for UMW. Salisbury was 4-6 on extra man opportunities, while UMW was 1-4. The Eagles also suffered through seven penalties in the game.

Senior goalie Ryan Kleman had 12 saves for UMW, playing 56 minutes, with Ryan Montgomery playing the final four minutes.
