UMW Men's Golf Leads by Six Strokes Entering Final Day at CAC Championships

Sophomore Sebastien Bonte shot a 1-under 70 and junior Phillip Manceri posted an even par 71 to lead the University of Mary Washington men's golf team to a six-shot advantage after two days of competition at the 2019 Capital Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Golden Horseshoe Golf Course in Williamsburg, Va. The Eagles shot a 295 on Friday, following a 311 on Thursday, and carry a six-stroke lead over Christopher Newport (612), followed by York College (613), and Babson College (616) in a tight battle at the top of the team standings.

After 36 holes, Bonte and Manceri are tied for fourth at 150, junior Jason Guintu is tied for eighth at 152 following a 77 on Friday, freshman Robin Yu is tied for 10th after shooting 77-78, and junior Brendan Kelly is tied for 19th after posting 83-83.

The Championships will conclude on Saturday.
