UMW Men's Golf Takes Early Lead in Crowded 2019 CAC Championship

The University of Mary Washington men's golf team shot an opening round 311 on Thursday on day one of the 2019 Capital Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Golden Horseshow Golf Course in Williamsburg, Va. The Eagles hold an 18-hole lead over York (314), Christopher Newport (315), and Babson College (316) at the top of a crowded leaderboard.

UMW was led on Thursday by junior Jason Guintu, who posted an opening round 75 to tie for third through 18. Freshman Robin Yu is tied for fifth at 77, junior Phillip Manceri is tied for seventh at 79, sophomore Sebastien Bonte is tied for 12th at 80, and junior Brendan Kelly is tied for 17th at 83.

The Championships will continue on Friday and conclude on Saturday.
