UMW Men's Golf Places Fifth at VSGA Collegiate Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Virginia State Golf Association Collegaite Invitational on Tuesday among 16 scored teams.

Mary Washington finished with an aggregate score of +35 (302-309-611). Virginia Union won the team match at +18, followed by Randolph-Macon at +29, Averett at +31, andChristopher Newport at +33.

The Eagles saw sophomore Sebastien Bonte finish the event tied for sixth place at 148 (+4) after shooting 69-79. Freshman Robin Yu finished tied for 21st place at +11 (79-76-155), while junior Phillip Manceri finished T-24th at +12 (80-76-156). Junior Jason Guintu tied for 28th with a +13 (74-83-157), and junior Austin Matz finished in a tie for 39th place at +15 (81-78-159). Junior Ethan Kelly finished tied for 13th place in the individual field at +7 (75-76-151).

The team will resume competition in the spring semester.
