UMW Men's Golf Places Fifth at VSGA Intercollegiate Championship

The University of Mary Washington men's golf team finished in fifth place among 14 sc hools at the Virginia State Golf Association's 67th annual championship, played at Williamsburg Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles finished with an aggregate 614, one shot out of fourth place, and seven out of third place. Christopher Newport finished first at 579, followed by Ferrum at 595.

UMW was led by freshmen Brendan Kelly and Phillip Manceri, who each shot a two-day total of 152, tying for 12th place overall. Freshman Jason Guintu shot a 155, tying for 21st, and freshman Ethan Kelly shot a 157 in tying for 30th. Junior Marcus Cigna rounded out the Eagle lineup with a 159.
