UMW Men's Golf Stands in Third Place After Day One at VSGA Collegiate Championship

The University of Mary Washington men's golf team stands in third place among 14 schools after day one at the Virginia State Golf Association's Collegiate Championship, played at the Williamsburg Country Club.

The Eagles stand in third at a cumulative +16, trailing only Christopher Newport (+1) and Ferrum (+10). Freshman Phillip Manceri was the Eagles' top finisher on the day, shooting a +2 74, and is tied for fifth. Freshman Jason Guintu shot a +3 75, junior Marcus Cigna shot a +5 77, and is tied for 15th. Freshman Brendan Kelly shot a +6 78, and is tied for 22nd.

The competition will continue of Tuesday.
