UMW Men's Golf Places 17th at Ted Keller Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's golf team cut two strokes off their score from day one to day two at the Ted Keller Invitational on Tuesday in Ashland, Va., finishing in 17th place.

UMW was led by freshman Austin Matz, who shot a 78 on Tuesday, slicing six strokes off of his score from Monday, in shooting a 162 for the event. Zach Kaylor shot an 82 on Tuesday, finishing with a 169, and Nathan Groner shot an 86 for the second straight day and ended with a 172. Alex Caldas shot a 95 to end at 181.

The Eagles will be back in action next weekend at the Virginia State Golf Association Collegiate Championships in Williamsburg.
