Pittman's 23 Leads UMW Men's Basketball Past Valley Forge, 76-47

Junior forward Trey Pittman scored a game-high 23 points, as the University of Mary Washington men's basketball team defeated the University of Valley Forge, 76-47, on Friday night in Phoenixville, Pa. The Eagles improve to 14-7 on the season.

Pittman led the Eagles, shooting 11-14 from the floor, and adding one free throw. He also led UMW with six rebounds. Also in double figures was sophomore guard Dorian Davis, who scored 19 points on 7-17 shooting, including 3-7 three point attempts. Senior guard Cameron McCravy scored 14 points on 6-8 shooting, making 2-4 three point shots. 

In all the Eagles shot 52.5% from the floor (32-61), making 5-14 three point attempts and 7-7 free throws. Valley Forge shot 34.1% (15-44), making 6-18 three point attempts and 11-18 free throws. The Eagles conrolled the boards, 35-23, and UMW caused 17 turnovers, leading in bench points, 64-9.

UMW will return to action on Wednesday, when the Eagles host Salisbury University at 8:00 p.m.
