The 13th ranked University of Mary Washington men's basketball team dropped a 91-75 decision to ninth-ranked Wesley College on Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Center. The Eagles fall to 18-5 overall, and 11-4 in CAC play.

The Wolverines jumped ahead early and never trailed, taking an early 8-0 lead. UMW cut the deficit to three at 14-11 with a Taylor Johnson three pointer with 14:45 remaining, and tied the score at 18 on another Johnson three with 10:28 to go, but Wesley answered with a three and layup to return its lead to five at 23-18. UMW trailed, 32-28, with 2:15 left in the half, but the Wolverines scored nine straight, including a three at the buzzer, to lead, 41-28, at halftime.

UMW opened the second half with a run that cut the deficit to seven at 43-36 two minutes into play, and the Eagles trailed by eight, 59-51, with 11:21 to play, but Wesley answered with a critical 15-6 run to put the game away.

The Wolverines shot a blistering 52.6% from the field (30-57), making 7-12 three pointers, and went 24-31 from the free throw line. The Eagles shot 40.6% (26-64), making 10-33 three pointers, and 13-21 free throws. Wesley held a 43-30 rebounding margin, thanks in large part to David Langan, who scored 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Eagles saw four players in double figures, led by Bradley Riester and Dylan Farinet, who each scored 18 points. Farinet added a team-high 10 rebounds. Dajon Daniel scored 15 and Taylor Johnson added 14 for UMW, who will return to action on Wednesday night at Southern Virginia University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
