Apprentice School raced out to a big lead in the first half and held on for a 55-42 victory against York (N.Y) in the first game of a double header at the William M. Anderson Center Friday night. The Builders took advantage of twenty-three York turnovers to take a 34-15 lead into the break. York went on a run of their own to take a one point lead in the second half until the Builders took charge down the stretch to pull out the victory.
Isaih Harrison led the Builders with thirteen points to go along with a team high ten rebounds. Lavontae Thomas and Lance Darden each reached double figures with ten points for Apprentice School, which moves to 5-0 on the season with the victory.
The Cardinals were paced by Omari Phillips’ 14 points and 10 rebounds, both team highs. Mark Evans added nine for York on three of five shooting from behind the arc, but the Cardinals couldn’t overcome their 23 turnovers.
York will be in action again Saturday at the William M. Anderson Center as they face off against CNU at 1 PM, with Apprentice School facing off with the Eagles at 3.
