UMW Field Hockey Picked Third in C2C Preseason Coaches Poll

The University of Mary Washington field hockey team has been chosen third in the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll, released today.

Mary Washington will rely on a strong group of veteran returnees to challenge for conference honors this fall, led offensively by all-state and all-conference senior forward Emma Bernard (16 goals, nine assists) and junior forward Paige Stewart (five goals, five assists). The midfield sees the return of Tally Vaughan, Ellie Helbling, and Monique Lipton, who stood out last season as a freshman. The defense welcomes back "young veterans" Emma Lehman and Caroline Porter, as well as senior leader Annie Grace Louthan. Returning goalie Bailey McNabb started 17 games last season, logging 1044 minutes and making 133 saves.
