On the strength of three goals and two assists this week, University of Mary Washington sophomore forward Ema Bernard (Fredericksburg, Va./ Chancellor) has been named as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week of September 19, 2021. This marks the second time in three weeks that Bernard has gained the award.
Bernard assisted on two goals and led the team in shots on goal with six in UMW's 5-4 loss to Shenandoah. In UMW's 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan, Bernard scored the first goal of the game. She added another goal in the 2nd quarter and followed up with her third and UMW's final goal of the game in the 4th quarter. Bernard once again led the Eagles in SOG with 10.
