UMW Field Hockey Falls at Salisbury on Saturday Night

The University of Mary Washington field hockey team fell to Salisbury University, 5-0, on Saturday night in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles slip to 7-4 overall, and 0-2 in league play.

The Sea Gulls started the scoring at 12:48, and added another at 24:59, to up the margin to 2-0 at halftime. In the second half, Salisbury added on three more scores for the 5-0 victory.

Salisbury led in shots, 17-8, as well as in penalty corners, 8-5. UMW goalkeeper Jessica Cavolt made five saves and defender Jackie Smith added a defensive save for UMW, while Dom Ferrace had four saves for Salisbury.

The Eagles will return to action on Monday when they host Rhodes College at 12:00 p.m.
