The 2015 UMW field hockey team has once again dedicated their time and relentless passion to help raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. LLS allocates funds to aid research in finding a cure for blood-related cancers. In 2014 the girls sacrificed one of their only nights off in season to participate in the DC chapter Light the Night walk. Unfortunately, the team is unable to participate in the walk this year on October 17th because they will be taking on Conference opponent St. Mary’s College that afternoon. This year the girls have partnered with the Young Hearts Foundation and they are proud to announce that the Foundation will donate $10 for every goal they score in October and November. So far the team has raised a total of $260 in only 5 games! Come out to support the team and help raise money to find a cure; only four more regular season games to score as many goals as possible!!
