Four UMW Field Hockey Players Named to NFHCA All-Region Team

A quartet of seniors from the University of Mary Washington field hockey team have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's All-South Region Team, announced today. Forward Jenna Steele and midfielder Haley Kane were named to the first team, while defenders Kathleen namey and Carlee Budd were named to the second team.

Steele ended her career as UMW's all-time leader in goals (69) and points (163), after scoring 23 goals and adding four assists this season. The 2015 CAC Player of the Year, Steele gains all-region honors for the fourth straight year, and third straight time on the first team.

Kane also gains all-region honors for the fourth straight time after finishing third in school history in assists. She finishes with 36 goals and 28 assists, good for 100 career points.

Namey scored 15 goals and added seven assists this season in repeating as an all-region selection. In her three years at UMW, she finished with 27 goals and 19 assists.

Budd gained all-region honors for the first time, after scoring six goals and adding 10 assists this seaosn. She scored 22 goals and added 19 assists in her career at UMW.
