UMW Equestrian Team Concludes Successful Weekend

The University of Mary Washington equestrian team concluded a successful weekend with its second home show in as many days on Sunday at EKG Farm.

Kate Howlin finished second in Open Flat and fourth in Open over fences, and Emma Najdzionek was second in intermediate flat and firs in Limit Fences. Annabella Nonamaker was sixth in limit over fences and Eliza LaViolette was second in Limit Flat and Limit over fences.

Alexis Neyra was third in Limit fences and fourth in limit flat, MC Woodrum was fourth in Limit Flat, and Mia Gibson was first in her Limit Flat class.

Miranda Herd took second in Novice Flat, while Olivia Miller finished third, and Anna Wood fourth. Melinda Snow was fifth in Beginner Novice Flat, Isla was fourth in Intro, and Josiah Schlechty was third in intro in his first horse show.

This was Isla and Josiah's first horse show and seventh time on a horse and both rode amazing. The Eagles have four qualified for regionals and hopefully will add three more riders in the next two horse shows. Liberty Feb 17th and Sweet Briar Feb 18th.
