The University of Mary Washington athletic department is pleased to announce that its varsity riding program has reached an agreement with EKG Stables in Spotsylvania County to become the team's new home facility. EKG Stables is owned and operated by Mary Washington alumn Erin Grampp, who will assume the head coaching duties.

"Erin's coaching experience and connections within the region will be a great asset to the team and the department and I look forward to welcoming her back to UMW", said Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo.

"I'm thrilled to be chosen to take the reins as the head coach of the the Equestrian team at the University of Mary Washington", said Grampp. "When I was an Eagle 20 years ago, I never envisioned having this opportunity - to steer the team to success.  To top it all off, as a returning student at the School of Education, I am an in a unique position being an alumnus, a head coach, and a current student.  The opportunities that the University has provided to me are immense and I'm excited to give back."

The riding team will continue to compete in Region 4, Zone 4, with shows scheduled for throughout the region in both the fall and spring semesters.
