The University of Mary Washington Equestrian team started off their season on Sunday, competing at Christopher Newport University with several top ribbons.
Freshman Sarah Dietz brought home a first place finish for the Eagles in her Novice flat debut. Senior Jules Ianuzi brought home a second place finish in Open flat. Senior Megan Mahoney brought home a second place finish in Intermediate fences. Freshman Caitlin Shirvinski placed third in her Novice flat debut. Freshman MC Woodrum and senior Khush Rajpoot both brought home second place finishes in their respective Pre-Novice flat classes. Junior Rachel Wright placed second and freshman Erin Kenealy placed third to end the day with Introductory flat.
The next show for the UMW equestrian team will be this upcoming Sunday hosted by the College of William and Mary.
