The University of Mary Washington riding team kicked off the 2016-17 season at the University of Richmond show on Saturday. The Eagles finished in third place, but just four points out of first, and saw three first place finishes.

Sophomore Nikki Ferrell finished first in her open on the flat class, while senior Allison Skowronski finished first in her beginning walk-trot-canter class. Freshman Morgan Roane took first in her advanced walk-trot-canter class to round out the Eagles' top finishers.

The team will be back in action on October 22 at the Virginia Commonwealth University show.
