The University of Mary Washington riding team used eight first place finishes to claim the regional title in the final regular season show of the season on Saturday at Hazelwild Farm.

Senior Kimberly Counts took blue ribbons in her open on the flat and open over fences classes to claim the region's Cacchione Cup advancement to the national IHSA show in early May. Other winners for the Eagles included Mary Catherine Morton and Allison Skowronski in beginning walk-trot-canter, Morgan Roane in advanced walk-trot-canter, Victoria Sheil in advanced walk-trot-canter, Daniel Odum in intermediate on the flat, and Lauren Fanta in novice over fences.

Several individuals will compete in the regional show on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Hazlewild, and the team will advance to the zone championships on April 9.
