Christian Hague Named 2019-20 UMW Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Senior baseball player Christian Hague (Moseley, Va./Cosby) has been named as the 2019-20 University of Mary Washington Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

A four-year starter for the Eagle baseball team, he was named the team's Most Valuable Player in this Spring's abbreviated season. He hit .368 in 12 games, with six runs scored and six RBI, leading the team in hits, walks, home runs, doubles, and fielding. A two-time all-conference performer, he also gained all-region and all-state honors in 2019. 

In his four-year career, Hague played in 123 games, with 147 hits, 39 doubles, 16 home runs, and a .353 batting average with 95 RBI.

Academically, Hague posted a 3.56 cumulative grade-point average, including a 3.6 in his Business major. He was a Fall 2019 inductee into Chi Alpha Sigma, a student researcher at UMW, and was also a member of the Student-Sthlete Advisory Council. He has been nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-America this Spring. He was consistently a member of the UMW Athletic Honor Roll and the Capital Athletic Conference All-Academic team each year.
