UMW Baseball Drops Saturday DH at York

The University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a pair of games at York College of Pa., 7-0 and 8-4, on Saturday in York, Pa. The Eagles slip to 11-19 overall and 4-13 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

In the opener, York scored three in the first and three in the second, and added another in the seventh en route to a 7-0 victory. 

Tyler Ray singled and doubled and David Lambertson singled twice to lead the UMW offense. Kevin France added a double. Hank Biggs took the loss, allowing six earned runs on 15 hits in eight innings, walking none and striking out five.

In game two, York scored one in the first, three in the third and one in the fourth. The Eagles score done in the eighth as Lambertson walked and France followed with a double. 

The Spartans scored three in the eighth before UMW plated three in the ninth. Mikey Flosser, Ray, and Christian Hague provided back-to-back-to-back RBI singles.

France led the way with a pair of doubles. Marcel Barrett took the loss, allowing four earned runs on six hits in seven innings.

The Eagles will host Southern Virginia University on Wednesday at 3:30 pm in another CAC contest.
