Mary Washington senior Nick McIntyre picked up CAC Pitcher of the Week accolades after making two appearances last week including a complete-game three-hitter. McIntyre opened the week by pitching one inning of scoreless relief in a team victory against Southern Virginia. In his start against Marymount, he allowed just one earned run with no walks and seven strikeouts. In his 10 innings of work on the mound last week, McIntyre posted a 0.90 ERA with eight strikeouts, zero walks, and five hits allowed.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury is receiving votes in both the D3baseball.com poll and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) / Collegiate Baseball poll ... Christopher Newport senior lefthander Mike Thomas tossed a complete game win at St. Mary's in his only action this week, improving to 5-1 on the season. CNU has now won 10 straight games, tied for the fourth longest win streak in program history ... Frostburg State junior Colton Sivic hit .444 in five games last week. He finished 8-for-18 with two home runs, seven RBIs, six runs scored, three doubles and three walks. In a win over Penn State Harrisburg, he was 4-for-5 with three doubles and four RBIs ... Senior Brian Burns turned in a banner week for Mary Washington, collecting nine hits in 16 at bats for a .563 average, adding a pair of doubles, a triple, and a home run, with six RBIs out of the Eagle leadoff spot. He went 1-for-2 with a two-run single that put the Eagles ahead in a 9-4 loss to Va. Wesleyan on Monday, and then finished 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs scored, and three RBIs in a CAC win against Southern Virginia. He closed the week by going 5-for-9 at the plate in a doubleheader split at Marymount, with four runs scored, two doubles, and a home run. His on base percentage for the week was .588, and slugged to a 1.000 clip ... Marymount junior Collin Bazemore posted a win and a save on the mound for the Saints last week. He tossed his first career complete game against Frostburg State, recording a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 7-3 victory. He also notched a save against Mary Washington in game two of Saturday's doubleheader, allowing no hits and striking out two in 1.1 innings for his first career save. Brandon Savage led the Saints at the plate with a .438 batting average with four RBIs, four runs scored, and two homers ... St. Mary's sophomore Brandon Snow scored five runs for the Seahawks along with six hits, and four RBIs last week ... Salisbury senior Pete Grasso hit .412 (7-for-17) with six RBIs and five runs scored in a 3-1 week for the Sea Gulls. He also earned a win on the mound against Southern Virginia, tossing 8.0 innings and allowing fivehits and two earned runs while striking out four ... Southern Virginia senior Josh Hilburn led the Knights last week with four RBIs, including an RBI in three of four games ... Wesley senior Mike Calvarese continued his hitting streak to seven games and has been a consistent bat in middle of the Wolverine batting order with a .455 average in five games on the week. Junior pitcher Alex Marrs picked up a win and a save last week for the Wolverines. In his start against St. Mary's, he went eight innings and struck out 14 Seahawks to set a new career best. In his save against York, he pitched a scoreless ninth inning. Marrs is tied for the CAC lead in wins (5), third in strikeouts (47) and sixth in ERA (2.31) ... York senior Elliot Mortimer twirled a complete game shutout in the Spartans' 12-0 game two win over Wesley on Saturday, scattering eight hits while striking out five in the shutout. He has struck out 20 and walked just five for the year as opponents are hitting just .167 against him. Christian Bilan hit .500 (9-for-18) in four games last week for the Spartans with four runs scored, five RBIs, a double, and a home run.
