#18 UMW Baseball Walks off Plattsburgh State, 1-0, on Thursday

Senior James Sink plated Mitch Moynihan with the game's lone run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to propel the 18th ranked University of Mary Washington baseball team to a 1-0 victory over Plattsburgh State University on Thursday night in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Eagles improve to 10-1.

The game was a pitcher's duel classic, with UMW's Nick McIntyre throwing a nine-inning complete game shutout, walking one and striking out 10 while allowing just two hits. Plattsburgh State's Ross Levinson scattered eight hits in 8.1 innings, walking one and striking out one.

Plattsburgh had just one runner reach second base, in the eighth inning. UMW had four runners reach scoring position only to be stranded, before Moynihan started the ninth with a single, and, after an out, came all the way around to score on Sink's double.

The Eagles saw eight different batters gain a hit. UMW will return to action in Myrtle Beach on Friday when they face Lehman University at 6:00 p.m.
