UMW's Haught, Williams Named CAC Athletes of the Week

BASEBALL

Mary Washington senior Jono Haught, York senior Stephen Miele and Frostburg State senior Clayton Freimuth were selected as the CAC Baseball Players of the Week for March 9, 2015. Haught was named the CAC Co-Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a perfect 4-0 week in Myrtle Beach, going 9-of-16 (.563) at the plate with two doubles, one triple, and three home runs. Miele was named the CAC Co-Player of the Week after hitting .600 (9-for-15) with six RBIs, two triples, a double, and four runs scored in a 3-1 week for the Spartans in Myrtle Beach. Freimuth was selected as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 in two starts, including Division III's first no-hitter of 2015 in a 3-0 win over Guilford.

SOFTBALL

Mary Washington senior Hannah Williams and Salisbury senior Rachel Johnson received CAC Softball Player of the Week accolades for March 9, 2015. Williams was named the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a 6-2 start in Myrtle Beach last week, batting .500 (12-for-24) with seven runs scored, seven RBI, and a pair of doubles. Johnson was honored as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after tossing a no-hitter and allowing just one base runner in the Sea Gulls' season-opening 1-0 win over Cortland State on Sunday.
