UMW's Ben Sisk Named CAC Pitcher of the Week

Salisbury freshman PETE GRASSO (Wilmington, Del./A.I. duPont) and Mary Washington senior BEN SISK (Chestefield, Va./Cosby) were honored as the CAC Baseball Players of the Week for Feb. 24, 2014.

Grasso earned CAC Player of the Week honors after going 7-for-11 at the plate for a batting average of .636 last week, helping the Sea Gulls to a 2-1 mark that included wins over Virginia Wesleyan and 10th-ranked Cortland State. He had a multi-hit performance in each contest, scored eight times and tallied two doubles and two RBI. Grasso also drew four walks, concluding the week with a .733 on-base percentage.

Sisk was named the CAC Pitcher of the Week after surrendering just one hit in seven innings to lead Mary Washington to a 10-1 victory over Penn State Altoona on Sunday. Sisk recorded nine strikeouts while walking four, and didn’t allow a hit until the sixth inning of the contest.
