UMW Baseball Falls at Bridgewater, 6-0

The University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a 6-0 decision at Bridgewater College on Thursday afternoon. UMW falls to 12-14 on the season.

Bridgewater scored four runs in the third inning, one in the fourth, and one in the fifth, and scattered seven UMW hits in gaining the shutout.

The Eagles were led by Thomas Weaver and James Keller, who each had a pair of hits, with Weaver hitting a single and double. UMW was outhit, 8-7, but fell victim to three errors which led to four unearned runs.

Senior Ben Sisk took the loss for UMW, allowing two earned runs in five innings with a pair of walks and a pair of strikeouts. Sophomore Bernie Mayflower pitched three perfect innings of relief.

Mary Washington will host York College for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader on Friday afternoon as part of the UMW Athletics Spring Jubilee.
