UMW Baseball Falls to Bridgewater, 11-0, on Wednesday

The University of Mary Washington baseball team fell behind, 4-0, after one inning, and never regrouped in an 11-0 loss to Bridgewater College on Wednesday at Dickinson Stadium. UMW falls to 5-3 on the season.

Bridgewater erupted for 17 hits, scoring four times in the first, once in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth, and three times in the eighth. UMW gained just five hits, with T.J. Cretney, Brendan Jones, Seth Jordan, Ben Sisk, and Kevin Stein each collecting singles.

Junior Jake Black took the loss for UMW, allowing four runs on five hits, with one walk and one strikeout. On the day, Eagle pitching walked eight and struck out four.

Mary Washington will return to action on Saturday when they host Southern Virginia University for a noon doubleheader.
