FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Kimlonte Morris Jr. has been named as the new Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Mary Washington.

Morris comes to UMW as a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with over seven years of professional experience in the sports performance industry. He has served at Sports Reality Performance Training in Mechanicsville, Va., since 2015, first as a sports performance coach, then as assistant director and then director of sports performance.

“We are excited to have Kimlonte join our staff”, said UMW Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo. “His background, experience and passion for developing student-athletes will be a true asset to our department!”

Morris has been responsible for the overall success of the performance training department, including managing interns, researching and implementing the latest training methods and techniques, providing quality service to current and prospective clients, and creating an environment that is competitive, professional, and meets the standards of the business.

He has working experience with athletes participating in a variety of sports to include lacrosse, field hockey, baseball, softball, tennis, wrestling, football, basketball, soccer and volleyball. He has coached top tier athletes that have gone on to excel at the Division I level in various sports across multiple colleges and universities.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Mary Washington athletics staff as Director of Strength and Conditioning”, said Morris. “I will assist the department in the ongoing goals of building excellence and developing the best of the student-athlete.”

Morris is a 2013 graduate of Old Dominion University, where he earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Business Management. He gained his Master of Sciences in Health and Human Performance: Sports and Wellness Leadership from Austin Peay State University in 2014.
