Wong became just the second baseball All-American in UMW program history in 1996 after stealing a school-record 37 bases and hitting .425. He holds the school record with six stolen bases in one game, and for his career posted a .378 average with 102 hits, 91 runs scored, and 52 RBI. He helped the Eagles to the 1997 NCAA Division III baseball tournament. Following graduation, he has become a key figure for the Kansas City Royals, as he is currently the Director of Baseball Administration after serving as Manager of Scouting Operations and Director of Baseball Operations.
