Wainwright remains one of the top defensive players in women’s soccer history. She gained NSCAA All-America honors in 2003 in her senior season, in which the Eagles captured the Capital Athletic Conference championship, and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Championship. Sparked by her leadership, organization, and stellar marking, the Eagles allowed just 14 goals in four seasons in conference play, and just six in 12 conference tournament games, and advanced to three NCAA tournaments during her career. She was a four-time all-conference pick.
