Sebastien Bonte Named Co-Winner of UMW Male Athlete of the Year

Senior golf All-America selection Sebastien Bonte has been named one of two winners of the 2020-21 University of Mary Washington Male Athlete of the Year. Due to the COVID-19 virus, winners were selected this year from the senior class, and based on their four-year careers.

Bonte, a Business administration major and sports management minor, was one of just two males in the senior class to gain All-America honors, when he captured Capital Athletic Conference Rookie and Player of the Year honors in leading the Eagles to the NCAA Championships in 2018.

This season, he gained medalist honors at the Shenandoah University Invitational in a field of 64 players, and took second at the VSGA State Collegiate Championship as well. He claimed the UMW Male Athlete of the Month award for March/April.

The Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards have been awarded every year since 2013.
