Inside the Nest: Zolia Rodriguez, Women's Soccer

In 2020-21, the University of Mary Washington Athletic Department is continuing its student-athlete spotlight series, "Inside the Nest." Each month, we will be celebrating student-athletes from different communities within our department, as a partnership with the James Farmer Multicultural Center's Cultural Awareness series. From September 15-October 15, we will celebrate Latino Identities Month.

Favorite part about being a UMW student-athlete:

Being part of a supportive community that cares for their athletes and meeting other student-athletes who share the same values.

 

Favorite thing to do in Fredericksburg:

Walk downtown with friends and going to Carl's.

 

Fun fact about me:

I am a first generation and both my parents are from San Miguel, El Salvador.

 

Favorite UMW memory:

Winning the CAC Championship last year vs York.

 

What has playing at UMW meant to you:

Playing at UMW has been a blessing and has been truly amazing. My team is like my second family and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

 

Post-graduate plans:

My goal is to work in the medical field and go to PA school after college.
