Why did you choose University of Mary Washington?

I chose the university of Mary Washington based on a sense of community that I felt here that I didn't get at other institutions. Additionally, a large part of my final decision was the team as well as its leadership (Kunle Lawson) who I felt would help me grow as a young adult and athlete more than some of the other schools recruiting me.

Favorite Spot on Campus?

My favorite spot on campus has to be ball circle in the warmer months and the university center during the cooler months. Moreover, the many friendly common spaces that have been built into the schools designed to help facilitate community interaction among the students here.

What are your plans post Mary Wash?

Post undergrad Mary Wash I am actually considering grad school here but if not, I am considering pursuing a career as a diversity officer. I am allowing myself room for consideration based on my upcoming internships just in case they lead me down a slightly different path.

What advice would you give incoming Eagles?

I would advise incoming eagle to do their best to immerse themselves here weather it is sports, clubs, community service, etc. There truly is something for everyone and to try to be as fearless and genuine as possible as you go through your journey academically and personal growth.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Black History Month means the breaking of barriers and the opening of doors for me to have the experiences that I have had. As a biracial student at an institution that was founded solely for white women it represents the growth that our nation has and is enduring while paying homage to those who came before us.
