VOTE FOR EAGLES! UMW Athletics Prepares for Busy Election Week with Fall Playoffs, Basketball Opener

The University of Mary Washington athletic department will face a busy week for Election week, as the Capital Athletic Conference Tournaments for fall teams conclude, the basketball teams open their regular seasons, and swimming and men's rugby host Saturday action.

On Wednesday, the men's soccer team will host St. Mary's College at 2:30 p.m. in the semifinal round of the CAC Tournament in a rematch of last year's championship match. The women's soccer team will visit Christopher Newport University at 5 p.m. in another CAC semifinal matchup.

Thursday will see the second-seeded UMW volleyball team host a CAC semifinal match at 7 p.m. against an opponent to be determined in the Anderson Center, and on Friday, the men's basketball team opens the 2019-20 season by hosting Shenandoah University at 7 p.m. That night, donations can be made for the UMW Canned Food Drive.

On Saturday, the CAC Tournament championships in men's and women's soccer and volleyball will be contested at locations and times to be determined, women's basketball opens the season at St. Mary's College against Drew University at 8:00 p.m., and the UMW swimming and men's rugby teams host regular season contests. The swimmers will host St. Mary's College at 1 p.m., and men's rugby will host Notre Dame College at 1 p.m.
