Eagle Nation Day - UMW Athletics' Community Day - Returns on September 23!

Eagle Nation Day is back! On Saturday, September 23, UMW Athletics is opening the gates to the Battleground Athletic Complex for this annual free kid-friendly festival. It is never too early to start encouraging our children to play, and UMW Athletics is teaming up with community partners to spread the word!

EAGLE NATION DAY 2017 FAST FACTS

#15: FREE Family Fun – Admission is free for all children and adults!

#14: Location & Time – Rain Date is Saturday, Sept. 30 (same time and details). The Battleground Athletic Complex: 1200 Hanover St. Fredericksburg, VA 22401. The gates to Eagle Nation Day will open at 10 a.m. and festivities will wrap up at 1 p.m.

#13: FREE Admission to UMW home games – Did you know all fall sports' games are free to attend? Stick around the complex and catch a free UMW home game:

Field Hockey plays at 12:00 p.m. – Turf Stadium, Battleground Complex

Women's Soccer plays at 1:00 p.m. – Grass Stadium, Battleground Complex

Volleyball plays at 3:00 p.m. – Rosner Arena, Anderson Center

Men's Soccer plays at 3:30 p.m. – Grass Stadium, Battleground Complex

#12: Parking – Fill up the Battleground Parking Lot first, which is an immediate left when turning into the complex off of Hanover St. Once that lot is filled, we will have our parking team direct folks to parking along Hanover, and the overflow lot. Campus Police will also be assisting with the event to keep everyone safe and smiling!

#11: Fredericksburg Field House – The Fredericksburg Field House, five-time E.N.D. partner, are bringing their giant inflatables, bubble balls, and Lil' Kickers instructors so every child can try out the class for free!

#10: B101.5 LIVE & Mascots – B101.5, five-time partner, will be live on air all morning! Don't miss your chance to meet UMW's mascot Sammy D. Eagle, Fred Parent's Pouches the Kangaroo, B101.5's Buzzy the Bee, and some of their best mascot friends!

#9: Splitsville Bowling – Three-time partner Splitsville is bringing back their giant inflatable bowling game!

#8: Paragon Gym For Kids – Second-time partner Paragon Gym will be bringing out tons of tumbling equipment and providing a safe space for all to practice their favorite Olympic routine!

#7: Chick-fil-A – Chick-fil-A, three-time partner, will be supplying chicken sandwiches for young and old! It will be first come, first serve and we ask all guests to only take one sandwich so everyone can enjoy a bite to eat!

#6: Sylvan Learning Center – Two-time partner, the folks from Sylvan will be joining up with UMW Professor Andrea Smith to host "Learning with LEGOs" and "K'NEX Engineering", an interactive play space for those who rave for robotics!

#5: New Partners! – First-time partners, Fredericksburg Parks & Rec and Rappahannock Area YMCA are joining the festivities! FXBG P&R will lead "minute to win it" competitions for the young and old while YMCA will be raffling off a family waterpark season pass for the 2018 season. But that's not all! Swing by their station and feel the rhythm and powerful beat of Drums Alive!

#4: CMoR Fredericksburg – Third-time partner Children's Museum of Richmond is back! This year CMoR will have a creative crafts station for all the little ones! Come one, come all and let's draw, construct or express!

#3: Home Team Grill – Thanks to our good friends at Home Team Grill we'll make sure all parents and children have heat relief from the Saturday sunshine. Home Team is donating bottles of water to ensure everyone has a great time!

#2: Fredericksburg Parent – Third-time partner Fred Parent is bringing FXBG's best events calendar to you. While moms and dads find out what's new in the area, the kids can play games and explore their series of sensory bins of sand, rice and water!

#1: Come Play! We want to encourage every child to get outside and play for at least an hour a day. Spending active time outdoors is more than just a breath of fresh air, it's a healthy lifestyle!  UMW Athletics loves our community and there is nothing better than seeing children of all ages having fun with friends outside!
